Courtney Barnett Shares Video For ‘Dead Fox’

UK Tour This Autumn

Anyone with ears and a brain will tell you that Aussie singer songwriter Courtney Barnett has already scored one of the albums of 2015 with her debut full length Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit. Throughout the album her deadpan delivery, and the relaxed catchiness of the majority of her tunes, downplays the subtlety and depth of her lyrics which range from the mundanity of house hunting to the profundity of global issues.

‘Dead Fox’ perfectly encapsulates this dichotomy as the music is perhaps the poppiest of her record, while the lyrics lament the modern age of big business which is hurriedly destroying the planet. In the video, animated and directed by Rory Kerr and Paul Ruttledge based on Barnett’s concept, the animals take revenge on humanity, with foxes, emus, and sharks, driving over pedestrians with a near orgasmic glee. Have a look!
