Mysterious London scuzz pop group EAT continue two things with the release of their second track ‘Byker Lime Slicer’. The first is what I’m assuming is an enduring love for “classic” British TV soap opera Byker Grove (their first track was called ‘Byker Drone‘); the other is a knack for creating engrossing lo-fi fuzzy guitar music that is also wonderfully melodic and anthemic. It’s like some kind of wonderful mixture of the pop sensibilities of britpop with the distorted, dreamy glory of shoegaze. Apparently they have an EP in the works. We are excite.
