Second Album Too Scheduled For Release September 4th Via Mom + Pop Music

L.A. fun time punks FIDLAR have announced their second album Too, with a stream of the first track to be released from the set called, ’40oz On Repeat’. You can get it on iTunes here: or order it on the band’s website for exclusive merchandise bundles.

The record, which was recorded over two weeks, was produced by Jay Joyce (whose name sounds like he is the comic book writing great grandson of James Joyce). Vocalist and guitarist Zac Carper said this about working with Joyce, “We could have made record number one again… but instead we decided to challenge ourselves and admit that we don’t know everything. Up until this point we had recorded everything ourselves, so working with a producer taught us so much. I didn’t want to make a standard rock record. The goal for this album was to think outside the box and I think Jay really helped us do that.”

The video for the track is a nostalgia trip through the frankly amazing music videos from the late 90s/early 00s. I remember being sixteen, at house parties, flicking through the channels looking for Deftones, drinking Dutch Gold, and chickening out of kissing girls. Good times! It seems to me that the track itself is a bit of a parody of the music of the time, too.”In the late 90s and early 2000s, music videos were such a huge deal,” says Carper. “We decided that instead of making one overly slick music video, we would nod to 15 of our favorite music videos that we grew up with. Everyone in the band threw in their ideas.” A complete list of video masterpieces that inspired the “40oz. On Repeat” video can be found below.
