It’s been a bit of year for Nottingham’s alt rockers Kagoule. I mean, if it had been my year I’d pretty chuffed. They played Glastonbury, and also shows alongside METZ, Iceage, Sebadoh, Drenge, and The Wytches, had a track playlisted by Radio 1, and worked on their debut album with Arctic Monkeys’ producer Ross Orton. Now, they’ve revealed a new track: “Gush”.
The track is a more restrained effort than their previous outfits. It sports the economical approach of the Breeders, with distinctly 90s alt rock chord progressions, and the good ol’ reliable loudQUIETloud song structure. If it ain’t broke and all that. The band are currently putting the finishing touches on their full length debut; 2015 promises to be another big year.
