I’ve mentioned this before, but, in the modern world of tweets and instagram, mystique is solely missing. This makes 23-year-old OKAY KAYA a refreshing prospect. There’s not really too much information about her. She grew up in Norway, play in her brother’s metal band, relocated to New York, and creates some delightfully ethereal and melancholic music. The music and video for her track ‘Damn, Gravity’ is a beauty. The video’s like a less party centric version of ‘1979’ by The Smashing Pumpkins. In fact, perhaps this is the post-party video. The track itself is tender, and subtle. Just all round beautiful.
