Debut album Wild Alee is out on April 21s.
You know I whinge a lot about the current state of mainstream music. If more pop music was like the delicate and considered work of Cork based musician Talos (aka Eoin French), then I could just keep my trap shut. Everyone would be happier.
‘Contra’ is the latest track to be taken from his upcoming debut album. Musically quite simple and stripped back, the track is led by echoing piano and French’s earnest and restrained vocal performance. A tender and graceful song, it builds to a gentle but earned climax that washes over the listener in waves of piano, synth, and intelligent drumming. This whole track is a prime example of music and musician serving the song. I’ll definitely be heading to his gig in Cork at St. Luke’s Church. It promises to be quite the night.
