Puzzlephonics I  EP Out October 9th.

Brooklyn’s Operator are sharing ‘Requirements’, the second release from their debut EP Puzzlephonics I. As with their debut track, ‘I, Banana’, this track is a exploratory jam like piece that lkind of sounds like Sonic Youth if they spent a whole year listening to Kraftwerk.

During the track, the group is led by Dara Hirsch (1989 Recordings) and Jared Hiller (Shark?/L0rez Effects) in a synthy adventure between a metronomic drum beat and a meandering guitar and bass lines. It sounds like it could be an expanded jam that could venture on and on indefinitely and engrossingly, but is in fact cut off after three and a half minutes. Throughout the track a refrain of, “Whose side are you on at the end of the day?” is repeated. Well, I’m on Operator’s side. Obviously.

More please.
