Debut Single Out Via Super Fan 99 On 8 January.
Philidelphia’s Queen of Jeans were born of a pact at a New Year’s Eve party in 2014. So it is fitting that their debut single is to be released virtually a year later. The a-side is called ‘Dance (Get Off Your Ass)’ and has been noted as bearing the influence of Sharon Von Etten or Warpaint. Personally, in its laid back strum I can hear a touch of Aussie singer songwriter Courtney Barnett. But what do I know?
The video for the track features Garfield, AKG headphones and is black and white. Which is absolutely fine by me. Dance will be released on ultra-limited hand cut square vinyl and is backed with a cover of the The Bangles ‘Walk Like an Egyptian’, a live favorite in their set. A self-titled six track EP arrives in early 2016 with art by Steve Arnold.
P.S. They love denim.
