Durham City trio T-Shirt Weather, who formed while Tom and Andrew worked at local dive bar The Fishtank, have been playing their oddball sound since 2012. Let Tom explain, ““We play a pacey, personal, scruffy pop punk. It was meant to sound like The Beatles, but it came out like silly North East Green Day, and we’re running with it.” They share the same heavily accented vocals of local peers Martha and No Ditching, and a similarly playful delivery combined with tender, thoughtful lyrics. However, T-Shirt Weather also sport trumpets. Witness the cacophony in the video for ‘gum’ below. It’s the bees knees. The cat’s pajamas. Ah, go on.
