Bitch Falcon’s debut album Staring At Clocks is out on November 6th via Small Pond Records.
Irish alt rock/grunge trio Bitch Falcon have shared yet another stellar single from their upcoming debut album Staring At Clocks. ‘Martyr’ is a typically fierce and powerful Bitch Falcon track led by a memorable bass line by Barry O’Sullivan and a near Spanish/Flamenco influenced guitar part courtesy of vocalist/guitarist Lizzie Fitzpatrick. Complementing all this is the off beat drumming of Nigel Kenny. The track builds to a hugely satisfying crescendo that displays how the group’s songwriting chops have continued to develop and improve since their inception in 2014.
“When writing this song, we wanted to achieve a post-punk vibe to it, but with modern influences,” says Fitzpatrick. “Nigel’s drumming reminds me of Warpaint in this, it has such a bounce to it. I tried to span my vocals from soft to cord ripping, a bid to show the aggression in the song.”
