In 2012, the ever creative Art Is Hard Records released a split 12″ record called Family Portrait. It featured Joanna Gruesome, Playlounge, Keel Her, and Gum, with the goal of the project being, “the idea of gathering together four bands that shared a similar ethic for a debut vinyl release.” Luckily for us, they plan to release the follow up, Family Portrait pt. II, on April 26th.
The new set features music by Bruising, Fruit Bomb, Living Hour, and Abatoir Blues. You can get a taste of what you’re in for in the form of the wonderful dream-pop group Living Hours, whose ‘Steady Glazed Eyes’ is streaming above. A meandering wander of a track, it lazily drifts along pleasantly without rejecting trifling matters like melody on the way.
Bruising, Fruit Bomb, and Abattoir Blues play a short UK tour in May:
05/06 Leeds, Nation Of Shopkeepers
05/07 Manchester, Fallow Cafe
05/08 Brighton, Green Door Store
05/09 London, Old Blue Last
