Axl Rose made a cameo appearance in Scooby Doo

The lead vocalist of Guns N’ Roses, Axl Rose, is definitely one of the most famous hard rock legends of all time.

Now, he took his fame into the cartoons world, as he made a cameo appearance alongside another legend – this time from the animated world –, Scooby Doo. This episode of Scooby Doo and Guess Who aired on February 25th, on Boomerang, and is named “Dark Diner of Route 66!”.

In the show, all the characters meet at a stop in the desert, during a road trip down the historic Route 66. Scooby and his friends want to check an abandoned diner to see if there is Wi-Fi inside.

“What’s up, mystery gang?”, is how Axl salutes Scooby Doo and his friends – Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Velma –, as the rock legend sits on his cool motorbike, with a hat over his glasses.

“I was starting to think you guys are no-shows”, he goes on, at which point the gang cheers him as a “total rock God”.

Then, Daphne asks Axl what brings him at a diner on Route 66: “Are you on tour?”. Shaggy tells Daphne that the rock legend “is a friend Scoob and I came here to meet”.

“Hey, how are you doing, my brothers?”, replies Axl, as he shakes hands and high fives with Shaggy and Scooby. “The Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses is friends with Shaggy and Scooby?”, asks Daphne.

Finally, Axl, Scooby and Shaggy have to find their other friends who begin to disappear, and then solve the mystery.

Scooby Doo and Guess Who appeared in 2019 and has 46 episodes so far.

Morgan Freeman, Whoopi Goldberg, Ricky Gervais, Jason Sudeikis, Christian Slater, Tim Gunn, Malcom McDowell, singer Sia, NBA star Chris Paul, and Neil deGrasse Tyson all had cameo appearances in the show, while Steve Buscemi and Sean Austin where also casted for different characters.

Unlike the not-that-good 2002 movie, which starred Rowan Atkinson and Sarah Michelle Gellar, the animated series enjoys its fame for over a half of century now. There are already more than a dozen TV series with the young gang solving mysteries.

The success of Axl Rose and the Guns

The success is not a strange thing and a mystery for Axl Rose either. He is the Guns N’ Roses’ sole constant member since the mid-‘80s, and was included into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame as a member of the band in 2012.

He also appeared as himself in another animated TV show, the New Looney Tunes series, in 2018, when he was singing “Rock the Rock” with Bugs Bunny on guitar.

Axl contributed to the Guns’ success over the decades. The band sold over 100 million records worldwide. Guns N’ Roses’ last tour, “Not In This Lifetime”, had over 150 shows and over 5 million people attending, making it the sixth in the history by size. Also, it received the Top Tour award at the Billboard Live Music Awards in 2017. But the biggest success of the tour was seeing Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan on the same stage for the first time since 1993.

The band’s fans must know that they can also find Guns N’ Roses among the slot games at Unibet. The slot was made by NetEnt and has an RTP of about 97%.

It is one of the best rock music slots and became so popular that was named the “Game of the Year” in 2016. The players can bet and spin as they enjoy a playlist with some of the most famous songs of the band – “November Rain”, “Paradise City”, “Sweet Child O’Mine”, “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Chinese Democracy”.

And Scooby Doo isn’t the only link of the band to the movies. Some of their songs are featuring on soundtracks from some very famous films.

“Paradise City”, which was ranked the best Guns N’ Roses song, is part of the Can’t Hardly Wait movie soundtrack (1998). “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, which became the first ‘80s music video to hit one billion YouTube views, is part of the soundtrack from The Big Short (2015) and The Wrestler (2008). “You Could Be Mine” is part of two famous movie soundtracks, like Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) and Terminator Salvation (2009). Also, the movie Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) has as soundtrack the song “Welcome to the Jungle”.
