Batteries – Human Requirements – (Overblown Track Premiere)

batteries human requirements premiere

It’s with considerable pleasure that we bring you the first chance to hear ‘Human Requirements’ by Scottish sci fi punk Batteries. The track will be released on a double A sided single via Do Yourself In on 11th September. The flip-side of the single will be ‘Softhead’ which will be exclusive to the release and not available on the forthcoming self titled album which is out on 7th August.

We’ve heard the album and ‘Human Requirements’ is a perfect example of the snappy brash punk style of Batteries. It’s a thrill from start to finish. Batteries is the latest moniker of Sci-Fi Steven from Glasgow legends bis. Steven had this to say about his latest single, ‘Human Requirements’ is a “thinly veiled political rant about the desperate inability of the electorate to fundamentally put collective welfare ahead of short-term selfishness. The “say-one-thing, vote-another” mentality that pervades and my frustration at conservative negativity. Somehow, it seems to have turned into a pop song with a skinny-tie sprightliness”.

Overblown recommends Batteries. Strongly. Listen to ‘Human Requirements’ below!

The self-titled debut album by Batteries is released by Do Yourself In on 7th August. To order the CD or the delicious 180g White Vinyl click right here.
