Seattle based alt rock quartet Chastity Belt have shared the latest track to be taken from their upcoming second LP, and first to be released via Sub Pop subsidiary Hardly Art Records, Time To Go Home. The track, the second single from the record titled ‘Joke’, is a mid tempo jaunt reminiscent of a more subdued version of label-mates Protomartyr. More upbeat than the title track of the new record, ‘Joke’ finds the quartet exposing a desire to “set everything on fire”. Can’t argue with that. The record will be out May 11th.
Chastity Belt consists of four friends (guitarists Julia Shapiro and Lydia Lund, bassist Annie Truscott, and drummer Gretchen Grimm) who met in a tiny college in Eastern Washington. After a handful of shows, and enthusiastic endorrsement from Seattle’s DIY community, the quartet took up a craped practice space. Here they crafted their debut album, No Regrets, which was warmly received in the indie community. I guess after that they figured they’d make another one.
