Circa Waves - Young Chasers

Dance and Shout

The uplifting and summery indie rock shtick is a well trodden path. So much so, that you really must be pretty damn adept at it these days to get any kind of notice. Enter Circa Waves.

“Young Chasers” is the Liverpool band’s newest single since forming last year. They released their first single through Transgressive Records and drew enough attention to themselves that they have since moved to Virgin/EMI for subsequent singles. Their’s is a particularly joyful and exuberant brand of indie rock. They’ve been compared to both The Libertines and The Strokes, but their most immediate likeness must be in the youthful and rambunctious records of The Vaccines. Both bands share a love for loud guitars, immediate melodies and yearning melodies. A perfect something for the weekend.

Frontman Kieran Shudall said the song was one of their more immediate songs adding, “It was written in the morning, the demo was recorded in the afternoon, put up on SoundCloud in the evening, and that same night people started playing it on radio.” In an interview with NME, the band claimed their debut album will have, “Lots of energy, loads of chords, loads of loud guitars and distortion.”

They will be touring the U.K. in November. Check out the tour dates below:
