New EP Transitions Out Now Via Fika Recordings.
As anyone who as done trigonometry (shudder) in school will know, a cosine is a mathematical function to do with right angled triangles. I think. Overblown failed maths. As such, it is an apt name for London indie pop quartet Cosines. Their latest track ‘Let’s Start It Over’ is an angular, confident and metronomic piece of indie pop brushed with kraut-rock and a dash of some synth for good measure. As we have come to expect from Cosines, the track also possesses the easy sense of melody that is imbued in Alice Hubley’s cool vocal delivery combined with the wonderfully wry kitchen sink realism of the band’s lyrics which is quickly becoming their trademark. The track features on their latest EP Transitions which is out now via Fika Recordings.
The video for the ‘Let’s Start It Over’, which was directed by Simon Love and heavily features essential London venue The Shacklewell Arms, is premiering above. You should check it if you like the following things: Groundhog Day (yes, the film with Bill Murray), baths, or attempted murder.
