Debut EP Horse Is Tired Is Out Now.
Every band needs a good mythos. It’s something sorely missing in 2016. Which everyone’s lives on the internet and people generally living in a world of cynicism, it is difficult to create any otherworldly magic around a band anymore. French Canadians Désiré Renard have a solid mythic story though. Singer and songwriter with the group Marc-André Dupaul was on photography trip exploring the wild landscapes of British Columbia which reignited his love with making music. The result of this revelation is Désiré Renard, the indie folk band he formed with Camille Rosset-Balcer and Gabrielle Girard-Charest.
They’ve just released their debut EP Horse Is Tired. You can check out the video for the stand out track ‘Make Circles’ above. It’s a pretty dark affair that depicts the spiritual death of the protagonists and was directed by Malo. It provides an apt accompaniment to the track with its chain gang rhythm, forceful and soulful vocals, and ethereal ambiance.
