New Music: Dylan Murphy – ‘Shoulders Back’

‘Shoulders Back’ is out now.

What is this? Some modern blues from Limerick born and now Galway based musician Dylan Murphy? Precisely.

Apparently, the track, and accompanying video, are part bitchy break up/love letter to Dylan’s surroundings. It makes sense that surroundings concern him as he is a bit of a troubadour and spends his time between the emerging music scenes in Cork, and Galway. In fact, I had a good chat with him at a recent Cork Loves Music event. He’s a gent. Hopefully, he’ll play at one in the future!

More good news is the track was recorded at Willow Sea Studios with Colm Bohan on bass (also plays for New Pope) and David Shaughnessy (My Fellow Sponges, Grounds for Invasion) on drums. Meanwhile, the video was directed by Colm Dunne (WAVE Film Productions) directed the fun video. It features Tracy Bruen, Kate Murray and Yvette Picque.
