Father John Misty Covers Nirvana's 'Heart-Shaped Box'

Fresh from releasing his latest critically lauded album I Love You, Honeybear, Father John Misty (or Josh Tillman if you are feeling familiar) has decided to cover Nirvana’s classic ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ from their In Utero album for Valentine’s Day. Rejecting the original’s cathartic vitriolic volume in favour of a more restrained and coiled rendition, Tillman’s explores the folkish elements of Cobain’s music perhaps giving a clue as to what avenues Cobain would have explored had he survived fame. Worth a listen.
