Indie/Emo: Employer share ‘Git Off My Property’

New album The Fax of Life out now.

Following in the footsteps of the likes of American Football and Death Cab For Cutie are Kansas City based indie/emo trio Employer. Their newest effort is a track titled ‘Git Off My Property’. A charmingly unassuming track, the song marries a Neil Young-esque falsetto with a musical style that balances a touch of math rock with the emotional resonance of midwest emo and indie. Lyrically, the words manage to be both abstract and direct with lines such as ‘can you council with the snakes in the garden’ alongside ‘i am never that sad but i do hate myself’.
