Indie Rock: Lawn Share New Track ‘Johnny’

Lawn’s sophomore LP, Johnny, is due out this Friday, Sept 4 via Community Records (Hikes, Slingshot Dakota) & Muscle Beach Records (Kate Teague, Molly Drag).

New Orleans, Louisiana indie rock duo Lawn have shared the title track from their recently released new album. This one is a charming and heartfelt slice of indie rock and stands in stark contrast to post punk angularity of previous single ‘Summertime‘. We’re loving the lo-fi vibe of the video. Reminds me of drawings I used to draw as a kid.

“I grew up thinking I was right and a good person, because I came from a liberal background,” Mac Folger (vocals/guitar/keys) explains. “I took that for granted growing up, and I realized that was bullshit. ‘Johnny’ is my grandfather’s name, and the song is directed at him.”

Order Johnny via Bandcamp.
