Paso Viejo’s latest album Agua de Oro is out now.
Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Paso Viejo (that means ‘old step’ I think) are a group of four childhood friends who explore and engaging and impressive brand of instrumental math rock. It’s a sound that is more interested than texture than fiddling though. Take ‘Kitsune’ as an example. This is a slowly expanding near ten minute opus that doesn’t rush into anything, instead choosing to build tension and nuance. It’s well worth the wait. Check it out below.
