‘Strangers’ is out now via Scruff of the Neck.
Having begun the year with a bang with the release of ‘Silence’ and a sell-out show at Salford’s Sacred Trinity Church, it is clear that Manchester post punks ist ist (German for ‘is is’) are taking a pretty strong run at 2017.
In a move bound to keep momentum going, the group have shared what sounds to our ears to be their most accomplished single to date, ‘Strangers’. Combining the magnitude of Interpol with the intimacy of Joy Division, the track is a significant deal more melodic than their previous singles. Possessing an imperious bass and drums combination that drives the song forward with purpose, and a hook/chorus that is begging for a big crowd singalong, this track is a definite statement of purpose for the trio.
The videos dark dramatics perfectly complement the intent of the song as the band perform drenched in strobe lights and smoke.
