Wales’ most wonderful export after the lusciously lunged Tom Jones and anchor like Welsh cakes, are back in the studio to record a follow up to their noisepop indie debut Weird Sister released in 2013 to cheers and whoops. Joanna Gruesome have tentatively decided the record shall be released in April via Fortuna POP! and assigned it the working title of Peanut Butter. Like the band’s debut, the record is being produced by MJ from Hookworms.
Owen Williams, guitarist/vocalist with the group, tweeted this in relation to the upcoming album: “worked this out and am pretty sure this nu record we’re doin is 20% better than our previous record. eat our dust “weird sister” fckin loser“. Quite.
Joanna Gruesome’s latest release was a split EP with the epically discordant Perfect Pussy titled Astonishing Adventures! Read our review.
The band play a three night stand at Power Lunches in London in January. There are still some tickets available for the gig on the 10th. Support from Spook School! Buy tickets here.
