Julian Casablancas announces new album

The Strokes front man announces new album, Tyranny.

There has been much speculation over the past few months regarding Julian Casablancas’ second solo album. The follow up to 2009’s Phrazes of the Young, will see the light of day on September 23rd via his own label, Cult Records. Titled Tyranny, you can currently pre-order the album here, for the budget price of $3.87. No word yet on what is special about the number 387, although it is the supposed birth date of St. Patrick. Perhaps Casablancas has written a concept album about the patron saint of Ireland.

Casablancas has also released a five minute promo video compiling footage from recent tours along with clips of new songs. Check it out below:
