Loveskills Covers Smashing Pumpkins’ “Luna”

Smashing Pumpkins ring leader Bill Corgan has never shied away from his love for 80s electro pop, and so it should come as no surprise that Brooklyn based producer Loveskills’ synth pop cover of “Luna”, from Smashing Pumpkins’ 1993 opus Siamese Dream, translates perfectly from a slow burning alt rock classic to a jittery synth covered pop jam. I wonder if BillCo would enjoy it. What do you think?

The track is the opener on Loveskills’ upcoming EP, Pure, which is slated for release on November 4 2014 via Brooklyn label No Shame (Black Taxi, Pompeya, Felix da Housecat).

Loveskills (Richard Spitzer) had this to say about the songwriting process, “I kept my ears away from new music even if it sounded amazing and especially if it was closely related genre-wise. Even if I liked what I heard, I would keep everything away in order to give my own music space to be itself.”
