Music Video: Girl Ray – ‘Where Am I Now’

‘Trouble’ 7 inch out November 25th via Moshi Moshi Singles Club.

London jangle pop trio Girl Ray have shared the rather delightful ‘Where Am I Now’, the b-side for their upcoming single ‘Trouble’. A laid back and chilled out track, the song features an infectious sway and jangle, combined with lush vocals.

“The song is about being in a really low and difficult place, and finding that even as you try to come out of it, the thought and pressure of happiness as a final destination can sometimes be scary and overwhelming in its unfamiliarity, “says Poppy Hankin, member of the group.

The video is a wonderfully rendered homage to old girl group videos and exquisitely presented in black and white. “Girl Ray have known each other forever so I wanted to show that through their looks and glances and private jokes,” says Rita Maria Conry, who directed the clip. “I took inspiration for the split screen from the layout of images in magazines, which also adds to the contemporary vibe.”
