New Band Of The Day #76: Nuns of the Tundra

‘Robot Love’ is out now. New single ‘Mind’s Eye’ out June 1st.

Who: Troy Tittley – Guitar, vocals, Arran Davies – Guitar, vocals, Jim Smith – Bass, vocals, Melos Moody – Drums.

What: Alternative/hard rock (FFO: Queens of the Stone Age, Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver.)

Where: Bristol / Worcester, UK.

Why: This one is for Jamie circa 2003. That was a Jamie who loved Queens of the Stone Age, Stone Temple Pilots and anything with loud guitars and an epic chorus. He also loved talking about himself in the third person. Loud guitars and an epic chorus are a surprisingly tough thing to pull off, and I rarely hear a band these days that con do it with confidence and ability.

Enter Bristol’s Nuns of the Tundra. Sporting thunderous production, strong melodies, and leather swagger, they burst out on ‘Robot Love’ with an ever so slightly off kilter melody and more guitars than you can shake a big stick at. These chaps are arena ready.

Keep an eye, and ear, out for their upcoming single ‘Mind’s Eye’. We’ve heard it. It’s a banger.
