When I was a child I used to love listening to Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf on record. It was the first time that I realised that music could encapsulate different characteristics such as menace, joy, fear etc. I would play it repeatedly and I was fascinated.
This brings me to the latest single from Elskavon. An American ambient musician, Elskavon crafts music that is imbued with life and character. His new track, titled ‘Spring’, is a gentle and gently flowering track that is imbued with the hope and gentle spirit of it’s seasonal namesake. A simple and unassuming track, it consists of a slightly melancholic piano line underscored by subtle electronic ambience.
