New album Mangled is out on September 22nd.

Even though they’ve only been together for a year, Athens, Georgia newcomers Palace Doctor will release their debut album Mangled on September 22nd. ‘There You Go’ is the last single to be released from the record and aptly displays the band’s fondness for college rock from the 80’s and 90’s. There’s a distinct Mission of Burma vibe to this track for me, albeit a more restrained and languid manifestation of the Boston legends.

Frontman of Palace Doctor is Phillip Brantley who also co-founded Laser Brains and the lead guitarist, songwriter, bassist and sometimes singer for the band Modern Skirts. For the record, Branley enlisted Jeremy Wheatley (Crooked Fingers) on drums and Nick Robbins (Velveteen Pink) on bass. Hank Sullivant (MgMt, Kuroma, The Whigs) produced the record and engineered it along with Kyle Spence (Kurt Vile, Harvey Milk).
