Having very recently announced that they’ve signed to the sumptuous Kanine Records (home of Grizzly Bear, Surfer Blood & September Girls amongst others), Glaswegian duo Pinact have now shared ‘Anxiety’. The track is the first taster from their forthcoming debut album Stand Still and Rot which will be unleashed in May. The album has been recorded by MJ of Hookworms who I reckon must’ve found a way to clone himself considering all the work he’s getting through recently. ‘Anxiety’ is a scuzzily simple song. Simply brilliant. Don’t blame me if this is stuck in your head for days to come.
I first saw Pinact about a year ago opening for Joanna Gruesome and Speedy Ortiz in their hometown. They were seriously loud, everything was screaming, my ears were ringing and if i remember correctly they broke the main band’s drum kit. In amongst all the racket there were melodies desperately trying to escape. These youngsters know how to mix great tunes with even greater fuzzed up punk rock. Since then every time i see they’re playing in Glasgow I’m already at another gig. Them’s the breaks I guess.
Listen in. Let us know what you think.
