New single ‘Weekend’ is out now.

Showcasing a knack for deft and soaring melodies, Swedish singer-songwriter Linnea Olsson has released her sparse and beguiling new single ‘Weekend’. Drawing on the elegant melodies of Agnes Obel and the playfulness of Joanna Newsom, the pop cellist has created a track that is both melodically arresting but without being as obvious as a smack to the face. Plus it’s not every day that you hear an artist sing their name over and over at the climax of a song.

The track is taken from her upcoming release, EP For Show, which is out on 24th February of next year. A former member of Swedish chamber rock group Isildurs Bane, Olsson has previously released two solo albums, Ah! and Breaking and Shaking.
