Post Metal: Cult of Luna share new album ‘A Dawn To Fear’

A Dawn To Fear, the eighth album from Swedish post-metal outfit Cult of Luna, is out now via Metal Blade.

Twenty years deep into their career, Swedish post-metal pioneers Cult of Luna have released A Dawn To Fear. Some have declared it their greatest album yet. For our money, it is certainly their best since 2008’s Eternal Kingdom. Leading with the thundering ‘The Silent Man’, the album showcases the band’s knack for creating ferocious and yet tender music that is dynamic and pummeling. The title track, which features clean singing from vocalist Kristian Karlsson, is a particularly engrossing and arresting effort.

Other highlights include album centrepiece ‘Lights on the Hill’, which clocks in at an epic 15 minutes, and the driving ‘Nightwalkers’. Is it the best? Time will tell. We’re just delighted to have them back.
