Post-metal: Minsk share moody new opus ‘The Chalice and the Dagger’

Minsk/Zatokrev split album BIGOD out now via Consouling Sounds and Czar Of Crickets Productions.

Chicago based post-metal stalwarts Minsk have shared an imposing and intense new track in the form of ‘The Chalice and the Dagger’. A slowly unfurling slow-burning number, the track balances light and dark with a combination of clean vocals and throaty roars during the chorus. It features as part of their split album BIGOD with Swiss post-metallers Zatokrev. It promises to be an unrelenting and confrontational affair.

“‘The Chalice And The Dagger’ is a snapshot into the world of paradox,” Minsk explain. “Life is a disgusting grind, yet our experience vibrates with ecstasy and potentiality. This song hopes to present the hymn of the out-lier; with the ragged beauty of navigating through the margins of existence. Interpretation is invalid without context, and this song hopes to touch on the uncharted, and the established. It sits within the entirety of BIGOD as one section of four, with all parts necessary to the whole.”
