Post punk: Angularity and filth from Sheer Calm’s new track

sheer calm

New post-punk kids on the block Sheer Calm bring the filth and the angularity on new track ‘Copper Tongue’. A departure from the sludge of their previous track ‘Mantle Piercer’, the new song sees the band exploring ferocity and melody in equal measure. It’s a short near three minute blast of off kilter guitar riffs and snarky vocals that explores communication anxiety. I reckon it’s about talking rope. You know when you’ve nothing to say, but say something anyway? And what you say is complete rubbish. Yeah, that.
