Post-punk: Mirny Mine shares haunting new track ‘Dream’

Mirny Mine

Mirny Mine’s debut album The Other Part is out now.

For your enquiring nature, I feel duty bound to inform you that Mirny Mine is a now-defunct diamond mine in Mirny, Sakha Republic, in the Siberian region of eastern Russia. The bugger was big. Measuring >525 meters (1,722 ft) deep (4th in the world) and with a diameter of 1,200 m (3,900 ft) it was one of the excavated holes in the world.

Here’s a picture:

Mirny Mine

Mirny Mine is also the nom de musique of photographer and multi instrumentalist Anna. The press release didn’t provide a surname. Oh, the mystery. She crafts an imposing and dense post punk that is intimidating and harrowing. Her music would probably sound epic reverberating around the mine itself. One can dream. Her new track ‘Dream’ is gleaned from her debut album The Other Part. We recommend.
