Slushy Guts New Album Is Out Via EDILS Recordings On April 9th 2016.
Slushy Guts, the lo-fi brainchild of artist London based artist Steve Keane, is set to release his latest album, Honey Is Not For The Mouth Of An Ass, on April 9th via EDILS Recordings. The album was recorded using broken tape recorders, junk store amps, and cheap microphones, giving the effort an intimate and run down vibe. Overblown is delighted to premiere their video for ‘Thoughts Hurt’, the first release from the album, which you can view above.
Overall, the effort is a genre less mish mash of styles of folk, rock, country, noise and anything else that can be shoe horned in. Its weird and seemingly senseless, which oddly gives the album a strange sort of humanity and clarity. If you enjoy a mixture of dodgy Casio keyboards, odd percussion, and fuzzy guitars, this is for you.
The ‘Thought Hurts’ single will be available on February 12th, and will be backed by a cover of the Dignan Porch track ‘She Is Landing’.
