SOAK Shares Cover Of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Immigrant Song’

Debut Album Before We Forgot How To Dream  Is Out June 2nd Via Rough Trade

Led Zeppelin’s ‘Immigrant Song’ is an immortal archetype of rock music. It thunders, gallops, moans, and thrusts its way though, barreling everything out of its way. Then Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor covered it with Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O, and a more sultry beast was born. The pace remained hi octane, but now it was sleeker, more dangerous.

Now, it is Derry’s Bridie Monds-Watson’s (aka SOAK) turn to take the track someone new. She uses the opportunity to craft a slow burning, moody, atmospheric number reminiscent of Depeche Mode at their most debauched.
