Folk musician of massive awesomeness Sufjan Stevens has streamed the first single, ‘No Shade In The Shadow Of The Cross’ from his upcoming record Carrie & Lowell. The track sees him return to his folkier roots after the electronica influenced the Age Of Adz. It calls to mind his most unadorned and simple tracks like ‘John Wayne Gacy, Jr.’ from his magnum opus Illinois. The track also seems to make reference to Christianity in its title, which has always been a pivotal part of Stevens’ life and work.
Carrie & Lowell is out March 31st via Ashmatic Kitty.
