Mothers Is Out On September 18th Via Chess Club Records.
‘Grand Affection’ sees the Birmingham quintet further expand their musical palette as they move out of the brit-pop revival of their 2013 debut album Where The Heaven Are We, into a more synth based retro pop sound. The song will feature on their upcoming second album, Mothers, which is set for release on September 18th via Chess Club Records. The buddies also have a whole load of live dates on the horizon. Check them out.
“We wanted to show a little bit more of our new album Mothers. We had been listening to Temporary Secretary off McCartney II and Kraftwerk for days which is where the riffs came from. If there’s a song that lyrically captures the broader themes of Mothers its probably this one”, explains vocalist Austin Williams.
