Trent Reznor Previews 4 Tracks From Gone Girl Soundtrack

Creepy Awesome

In 2010 Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for their soundtrack work on the film The Social Network. However you feel about that film, the soundtrack was certainly intimidating, grand, and oppressive. Today Reznor and Ross have released four tracks from their upcoming soundtrack for Gone Girl, directed by David Fincher and out on October 3 (my sister’s birthday!). The soundtrack will see a digital release a couple of days earlier on 30th September. The physical release will follow later.

Of the four recently released tracks our favourite is “Just Like You” due to the complete drop off half way through that leaves a single piano slowly meandering it’s way through a mournful and gentle passage. A surprisingly warm and even pretty piece by Trent’s normally quite claustrophobic standards.

The film, which is based on Gillian Flynn’s 2012 thriller, stars Ben Affleck as a man accused of murdering his wife, played by Rosamund Pike.
