Debut Album Meet The Foetals  Out In October Via PNKSLM Recordings

London and Stockholm based record label PNKSLM (Punk Slime) Recordings is fast becoming a favourite in the proverbial Overblown offices. Having recently pioneered Swedish lo-fi charmers Magic Potion and Russian fuzz-pop singer/songwriter angelic milk, they’re back with another gem in the form of Manchester based garage pop act The Foetals.

The Foetals is a new project from Jolan Lewis, the front-man of The Pink Teens, who also plays in Francis Lung’s band and Aldous RH. Debut single ‘Fine’, is a super retro jangle fest which sounds like a 60s pop/rock track played through a C86 machine (someone should really invent that).

‘Fine’ also serves as the lead single from The Foetals debut album Meet The Foetals, which is a suitably retro album name for a suitably retro band. The record was recorded over two days by Jolan himself at his own home studio on the outskirts of Manchester, and attempts to, ” find a middle ground between perfect 60’s pop records and the inept DIY sound of American private press LPs”.

Sounds good to us.
