I kind of have a thing about 1994. If anyone asks me, I will argue for hours that it is the best year in the history of music. And so Columbus, Ohio based Van Dale’s desire to encapsulate 1994 is right in my wheelhouse. ‘Bed of Bricks’, the first single from their self-titled debut LP, is very Blue Album era Weezer. Not in a derivative, boring way, no sir, this is charming, endearingly nerdy indie rock that is clearly heart felt and pretty damn catchy. Initially released in September 2013, the album is up for re-release on llimited edition cassette tape on March 31st via Fleeting Youth Records. It will also be available digitally.
