Video Premiere: Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers – ‘Disconnected’

Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers

New album PLUTO out now.

For a song about disconnection, the new track from Michigan indie rock outfit Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers is a remarkably warm and inclusive affair. There’s a gloriously inviting funk and groove to their indie rock focused din. Ultimately, it is a song full of hope as lines such as “won’t you wrap me in your arms to save me” and “I’ll wrap you up until everything starts again” attest to.

We are delighted to be premiering the video for the track right here on Overblown. A call back to the involved music videos of the 80s and 90s with its long intro and detailed narrative, the video depicts an elderly gentleman seemingly at the end of his years who decides to turn off the TV, throw on his magician duds, and head back into the world. In the end, he’s all the better for it. He’s no longer disconnected.
