Duo To Tour UK In September.
Toronto art punks Weaves and alt rock quartet Dilly Dally (read our interview with singer/guitarist Katie Monks) are back in Europe this autumn to pretty much tear the place apart. This will include a stint in the UK together, beginning at the End of the Road Festival in Salisbury and culminating in the Scala in London on 22 September. Ahead of the tour both bands had lovely things to say about each other.
“One thing I love about their music and live show is the urgency to get things out. Their music is raw and aggressive but also melodic and welcoming, a trait that is unique to their sound. Katie knows what she wants and delivers this erosion-like slur to her singing and guitar playing. I feel like she has the ability to rip out my insides and tie them to a tree for swinging on or something. Emotional.” – Weaves’ Jasmyn Burke on Dilly Dally
“As with all the best bands I know, you have to earn your fanhood. Or rather, they have to earn it for you. I get the chills from how in control she is of her own vision, and her very distinct connection to the audience… Hands down, one of my favorite bands right now, and all of Dilly Dally is equally as pumped to hit the road with our special buds this Sept.” – Dilly Dally’s Katie Monks on Weaves
