Windings Share Video For ‘You’re Dead’, Announce New Album

New Album Be Honest and Fear Not  Out September 30th Via Out On A Limb Records.

Limerick based alt/folk group windings have shared the video for the first track to be released from their upcoming fourth album Be Honest and Fear Not. The clip for the track ‘You’re Dead’, which was created by Stephen Boland, consists of footage from classic films from the forties and fifties. It then appears that portions of these clips have been filtered through what looks like a rotoscoping effect. Imagine Richard Linklater’s A Scanner Darkly if he had made it in 1956 instead of 2006 and you’re on the right track.

The track itself lives up to the band’s name as acoustic guitars twist and turn hypnotically through passages of paranoid organ chords. Despite the perceived gentleness of the vocal melodies, there is present an underlying urgency and insistence to the track that culminates in a fuzzed up guitar climax that is both surprising and rewarding.

Be Honest and Fear Not promises to be a peach.
