The Watergirls // The Whole Of The Moon
Initiated by Glasgow music guru Alan “Teamy” Thomson, before being joined by LCD Soundsystem‘s James Murphy, Mhairi McClymont, Bob Weston, CC:Disco and Fantastic Twins; The Watergirls are a one-off musical project formed in memory of Optimo‘s JD Twitch, who died of a brain tumour last year. A stellar cast recreating a bone-fide anthem for a good cause, with all proceeds going to Beatson Cancer Charity and the Scottish Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence.
Turnstile // SEEIN’ STARS (ELTON JOHN VERSION)
Yeah, we’re not entirely sure either. We’ve certainly played it a lot of times already, so maybe Elton John’s reimagining of Turnstile’s ‘SEEIN’ STARS’ is exceptionally good? the jury’s still out on this one.
Greg Freeman // Cahokia
Greg Freeman shares ‘Cahokia’ off the back of two sold-out London shows last week. Freeman’s new album, All Set The Bone – out 2nd October – sees political and personal anxieties tessellate to the soundtrack of distorted country-tinged guitar.
Chinese American Bear // Dance Dance Dance (跳舞跳舞跳舞)
Initially written for May’s album Dim Sum & Then Some, Seattle duo Chinese American Bear have belatedly dropped the space-age disco groove of ‘Dance Dance Dance (跳舞跳舞跳舞)’.
The Twins // wish u
London production duo Omar & Jamal Ikram continue their 2026 hot streak with the escapist beatmaking of ‘wish u’. It’s short and sweet, but the understated climax at 1:10 packs more feeling than some acts fit into an entire album.
untitled (halo) // aimee lou wood freestyle
LA trendies untitled (halo) have announced their self-titled debut album in collaboration with Dirty Hit and – if ‘aimee lou wood freestyle’ is anything to go by – this is gunna be a horse worth backing. untitled (halo) LP arrives 6th November.
