The New York band commence their UK/EU tour on 2nd November.
One of a number of tracks which were created in anticipation of Model/Actriz’s debut album Dogsbody, ‘WINNIPESAUKEE’ – the name of a lake in New Hampshire – was initially a five syllable placeholder, before frontman Cole Haden grew attached to the use of the word.
“Although I’ve never been to this lake before, I couldn’t find another word that sounded more right to my ears than Winnipesaukee,” Haden explains. “So the place I’m describing in this song is not based in New Hampshire, but instead is a snowy place I was daydreaming about walking across alone.”
The creeping, abrasive ‘WINNIPESAUKEE’ is the first new material from Model/Actriz since the release of Dogsbody in February. A cataclysmic amalgamation of genres delivered with brooding intensity, Dogsbody made saw critical acclaim from both sides of the Atlantic.
