London day festival Wide Awake have announced the next wave of acts to be playing their May 2024 edition.
After recently announcing that Aussie psych-rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will be performing as headliners, Brockwell Park will also play host to the likes of Young Fathers, Eartheater, Squid and many more.
Having launched in 2021, the festival has previously seen performances from Primal Scream, IDLES, and this year welcomed Caroline Polachek in support of her acclaimed album, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You.
Wide Awake has always championed a diverse range of acts in the past, but this recent announcement sees an even greater variety than before, reaching for the likes of New York post-punk newcomers YHWH Nailgun, the experimental dance of DJ Ben UFO, and the art-pop of Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul.
There have also been numerous exciting collaborators working alongside the organisers in past years, and this year the festival have put the curation of one stage in the hands of iconic Seattle radio station KEXP, with DJs Cheryl Waters and Larry Mizell Jr. taking on the responsibility of selecting artists to perform on the stage.
Tickets in previous years have always flown out fast, and with much more yet to be announced it can be expected to be another year of high demand for the festival in what is already looking like a formidable lineup.
