Bill Ryder-Jones announces new album with ‘This Can’t Go On’

Bill Ryder-Jones announces new album lechyd Da with This Can't Go on

lechyd Da will arrive 12th January via Domino Records.

Bill Ryder-Jones has previewed his fifth album, lechyd Da, with the new track and video ‘This Can’t Go On’. Opening with expansive strings and haunting keyboard notes, ‘This Can’t Go On’ is a more spacious, blockbuster composition than the intimate minimalism of Ryder-Jones’ most recent offering, 2019’s Yawny Yawn.

Yawny Yawn itself was a rework of 2018 album, Yawn, making for a six year wait between the two bodies of original work.

In the years since Yawny Yawn, Ryder-Jones has produced the work of other artists including Teenage Fanclub‘s Gerry Love and Saint Saviour from his West Kirkby studio. the latter of whom collaborated with Bill on 2020 single ‘Home‘.

Check out the video for ‘This Can’t Go On’ below. Directed by James Slater in the Fife parish of Crail. The settings pays homage to Dale Bissland‘s lechyd Da‘s album artwork.
